RIA News reported, that doctors of Australian Research Institute of Cardiology of Baker issued the report entitled “Future” fat bomb of Australia” on parliament site, which states that Australia overtaking U.S. on the number of fat citizens.
According to doctors, seven of ten australian middle-aged men and six of ten women have problems with superfluous weight and have tend to obesity. Also, doctors are concerned that the problem of over weight increases the risk of cardiovascular disease.
According to lead author of the report professor Simon Stewart, excess weight and obesity at the moment constitute a major threat to the health of the inhabitants of Australia. 9 of 21 millions of australians suffer obesity. In the future, this could cause a strong surge of disease and high mortality of population.
